Carpet Mill Outlet was established as Carpet Plaza, located in the Orange Plaza Mall in Middletown, NY in 1976 by Seymour and Terri Borden. In 1984, their son Ken Borden came aboard, and it was decided that Carpet Plaza would go east and open under the name of Resnick's Carpet Mill Outlet in what was Resnick's Outlet Mall in Newburgh's inner city.
Soon after, the Middletown store was sold. In 1986, the Bordens purchased a free standing building on Route 32 in the Town of New Windsor, approximately 3 miles from the Resnick's location which was called Carpet Mill Outlet. This was set up as a warehouse showroom. Their concept of selling short rolls and remnants at discount prices was a phenomenal success. In 1990, the New Windsor building was doubled in size to accommodate more inventory. In late summer in 2001, we again broke ground, adding an adjoining warehouse with over 15,000 additional square feet. To this day, the business is still owned and operated by the same family, and they pride themselves on their dedication to customer service, satisfaction and the best prices they can offer.
